Lidia Rodríguez Méndez

Lidia Rodríguez Méndez is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of the Basque Country (EHU). She obtained her B.Sc. in Geology in 2006 and her PhD in Geology in 2011 from the same institution.
From 2012 to 2014, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Royal Holloway, University of London (UK), where her research focused on analogue modelling of fold-and-thrust belts. Since 2015, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at EHU, combining fundamental and applied research and collaborating with public institutions and industry.
Her research interests include structural analysis, tectonic evolution, and geological mapping with particular emphasis on GIS-based cartography and applications to energy-related topics, such as natural hydrogen resources or geothermal systems.
She has participated in 15 competitive research projects and in 6 research contracts with companies. She is the author of 30 scientific publications, with more than 150 citations, and has contributed to 27 national and international conferences. She is currently co-supervising a PhD. Thesis
In addition to her research activity, she has been involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching, has supervised Bachelor´s and Master´s theses and has contributed to science outreach and student engagement initiatives.
