Lara Mabe is the Head of the Energy Planning Platform at TECNALIA and has a solid track record in technical-scientific coordination and R&D project management in the fields of energy planning and urban and regional energy transition. She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering (Energy specialization) from the Bilbao School of Engineering (UPV/EHU) and a double engineering diploma from the École Nationale des Arts et Métiers (Bordeaux, France). She also completed a Master’s degree in Energy Technologies and Building Climate Systems at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona).

Since 2008, she has worked as a researcher and project manager in the Energy Efficiency and Planning area at TECNALIA, combining the operational leadership of complex initiatives with consortium building and a strong focus on impact. In 2017, she obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) international certification. In recent years, she has coordinated major European projects such as ATELIER, OPTEEMAL, and MATCHUP, as well as the regional Elkartek project BIDERATU. She has also led contract-based projects at regional level, including IRUNRES with the City Council of Irún and the Energy Cadastre with the City Council of Donostia/San Sebastián.
